About HandyChords

HandyChords helps you find and play any chord quickly. Every page is free, and nothing asks you to sign up.

Why we built it

Looking up a chord should take seconds. Many chord sites show a single shape, hide the rest behind an app or a subscription, or bury the diagram under ads. We wanted one place where every voicing is listed easiest first, you can hear each one, and the same chord is a tap away on guitar, ukulele and piano.

What is on the site

• 803 guitar chords and 540 ukulele chords, with every voicing and finger-by-finger steps
• 588 piano chords with all inversions and fingering for both hands
• Scales and keys in all 12 roots, worked out from music theory
• A tuner, a metronome, a chord finder, a transposer and other small tools

Where the data comes from

Guitar and ukulele voicings come from the open chords-db project. Note names, intervals, piano voicings, scales and keys are calculated from music theory, and the sound is synthesized in your browser. See data sources.

How the site is funded

The site shows ads. That is what keeps every page free for everyone.
